Presentation

The Association is a non-profit institution, with the purpose of promoting, within the Portuguese speaking countries, the resolution, through mediation or arbitration, of cross-border disputes arising between:
• Parties belonging to any of the Portuguese-speaking jurisdictions;
• Parts belonging and parties not belonging to any of the Portuguese-speaking jurisdictions.
The Portuguese-speaking space covers all jurisdictions that have the Portuguese language as their own or one of their official languages, abbreviated as "lusophone jurisdictions".

History

In preparation since 2018, the Association was founded in 2019 in the Macao Special Administrative Region and formalized in 2020 by 30 arbitrators from Portuguese-speaking countries, Mainland China, and Hong Kong, The association already has already over one hundred members.

In 2021 the Association carried out the formalization of protocols with similar entities of Portuguese-speaking countries and Mainland China, as well as started the preparation of the largest online training action for arbitrators in Portuguese-speaking countries.
